Synopsis

Using archival footage, unfinished films, and interviews, this documentary tells the story of Roberto Rossellini's transformation from narrative filmmaker into didactic filmmaker and teacher. Convinced that television could become a tool for public education, Rossellini developed a radical new cinematic language. This vision became known as The Great Plan.
